Never be drunk and abusive to the staff in a resurant, have you not seen those programmes where they go and spit in your food. Always be nice to people who give you something you're going to put in your mouth!!!!!!

Depends if ur outside the indian sub continent maybe what ever the laws r. Like here I suppose they have the right to press charges on you. But if your in an Indian resteraunt in India, depending on the class of the resteraunt and who the owners r, its prety much local law- usually what ever they c fit. They're on home turf so they can prety much do as they please and wouldn't get all soft and let the police handle it or let it go under the impression its going to be bad for business.
B careful it could get nasty!

If you are in India I would think you will have to pay with time spent locked up, but you may get taxed on what it costs their country to keep you locked up.
So I would recommend being respectful to any host country that you may consider visiting. If you find this act difficult I would recommend you don't visit those countries (or those restaurants).
If you are in UK I guess the restaurant will call the Police and you could still end up being locked up (drunk and disorderly). I don't think UK is yet charging tax on that but perhaps that would be a good idea, I think a letter to the Chancellor of the Excequer is in order.

why would you be drunk ? Why would you be abusive ? Is this common behaviour in an Indian restaurant?
I do not understand how this came about.
