I used Turbo Tax. I bought it at costco for $29.97 or so with the Federal and Free State software. I waited until Costoco offered the $15 off coupon which was the first week of February.
The problem isn't so much the software costs, but if you e-file, that is what gets you.
Most softwares are pretty good, you just need to read the box (and maybe some reviews) to see which is best for your particular situation.
I didn't move, buy anything large purchase, and I didn't buy or sell stock. I had the basic, W-2, Married, dependent, with a mortgage return and it was easy to use.
Good luck!

TurboTax Premier, for sure. But hurry...it takes 48 hrs to find out if your returns are accepted after they are submitted. That is, if you are e-filing your returns. Good luck!

I would suggest using a common software like TurboTax from Intuit. There really well bulit applications, and they are simple to use. However, there are some other choices but TurboTax is pretty good.

Kimberley
I have used TaxAct for about 8 or 9 years now.

Turbo Tax is great. It's very easy to use and is not that expensive if purchased at target.

At work, we use CCH, which is really GREAT. At home, I use turbocrap. Ooops, I mean turbo tax. I always thought it was okay, but this yr I found 2 glitches in it that I had to override to fix and a non-accountant might never have even noticed.
