getting married and having kids won't increase your salary, but will decrease your taxable income. But on the other side of the coin, you'll be spending money for those kids. so you might end up with a net result of $0 or even negative.

Leave the US.. lol
No mater how many kids you have , or how many times you get married ... the IRS is still gonna rip ya off in the tax department !!

not sure how getting married or having kids increases your pay? Getting married will increase your taxes (marriage penalty) Kids will reduce your taxes but you have to pay for the child and it is a nice break but not free money. If you make more they take more. or find out the limits and try to get a raise up to the tax bracket and you will pay the same percentage. If you have a 401k take your raise and just increase your deduction into that. That is pre-tax money and that means it does not count toward your taxes and you don't pay any on it. (until you take it out) they are going to get you either way. A better way is to try and use your money more wisely. Taxes won't go away

Increasing your salary will typically INCREASE what you pay in taxes.

Getting married might or might not lower your taxes a little - it depends on circumstances. And having kids will give you a tax break, but not likely enough for all the expenses of supporting them.

Are you already putting the max into a 401K or IRA?

Kids cost more than the government will subsidize in reduced taxes (or else we'd all have 15).

Getting married will reduce what you own in taxes as you get taxed at a lower rate, but it's not going to increase your salary (although some placed look more favorably on married people than single people when handing out promotions, but this typically only applies to men because it shows that they are "settled" and have a family to provide for and are therefore less likely to up and move. On the flip side, most companies don't look as favorably at married women because they think "oh, she'll be taking maternity leave soon." Sad, but true.)

Buying a house is a nice tax break. If you can find one close to what you are paying for rent, then you can itemize and deduct your interest, which may put your total housing cost lower than rent (assuming you don't have major repairs). But, if that interest makes your itemized deductions only close to the standard deduction, then you aren't really saving that much. But, hey, at least you build equity.

the only way to increase your salary is change jobs or get a pay raise this nothing to do taxes. sure if your salary go up - so does your taxes -- i would love to say next year i had to pay 10 million in taxes (under the present system) figure how much i would have to make.

get married add more bills off set tax gain

have kids - yet more bills off set tax gain

oh for the good old days when you could claim children and did not have to put ss number on the tax form. the year the irs starting enforcing ss numbers over 1 million kids died a sudden death.

be glad you have a job and enjoy the few benefits you get from your tax dollars
