I certainly hope most Americans would use it to pay down their debts or put them in savings for another rainy day. This country is running out of credit to keep on buying goods.

So exactly whose economy are we stimulating?
Really though, I think many Americans will be using it to pay bills. A huge lot of us are broke, broke, broke and I know if I even get one, it will be going straight to credit card companies and not "stimulate" the economy at all. |

If people are smart, they'll pay bills with any rebate OR Bank it for a time down the road when they might need it. Times are hard and the American economy is rocky right now and unpredictable. |

Come on People! Your complaining about the fuel cost and heating! Why not fill your tanks up for next years winter! And pay the bills that you have and maybe put extra on your mortgage payment! Of course save a little to buy something for the house and etc! But put most of away in something that will help you out in the future now toys and etc! |

I think majority will spend at walmart on household goods, hopefully bills will get caught up, first then shop... |

My Rent and my credit card and student loans and deposit money for a different apartment all need some lovin' and a tax rebate is the perfect gift.
When I pay this into my bills, I will be closer to a point where I can put more money into the economy. |

Whenever you see "GEM", pay close attention, because she makes a lot of sense.
I will be doing what she will be doing, and if China becomes the dominant force in geo-politics, then we must begin adopting their customs because they are being relied upon to buy up our debt.
When they enforce making vehicle accident perpetrators face death sentences, then I'll know we'll be living in China.
It takes nothing to replace an American flag with a Chinese one. Especially knowing that many American flags are now produced in China where labor is still cheaper than here in U.S.
Enjoy that rebate...it may be the last of the free spending spree. |

Probably mostly stuff they don't need. My family spent a few hundred dollars on new clothes this weekend. |

I personally will spend it on new replacement windows. We didn't get back what we expected since my husband was laid off part of last year, so we paid for 5 out of 9 windows to be replaced. When we get the tax rebate we will have the other 4 done.Maybe it will help us out in the long run with the electric bill. A little at a time goes along way. |

I will be spending mine on paying car note or mortgage not on anything that I don't need. That would be the smart thing to do instead of buying things you can go without especially with times being the way they are. |

Most people spend their tax rebates on: home improvement(s), furniture, clothes, car (or downpayment), a new wii or ps3, anything fun, or something not fun like bills!! There may be a slim FEW who actually invest the money from the return. |

I'll be spending the majority of mine on catching up on bills, and I bet there are alot of others planning on doing the same.
I'm sure the economy will only recieve a temporary boost from the tax rebates.
