I'm not sure but I think your going down the right road.
President Bush wanted to do slightly the same thing. It's called tax cuts and rebates. Only, the congress that people hate more than the president capped it.
Every tax payer should be given a huge bailout. They deserve it far more than the fat cats who get a 50 million dollar bonus while their business goes bankrupt. |

It's INSANE. That would cost the government upwards of $300,000,000,000,000. That's $300 TRILLION dollars, or 30 times the current deficit.
Inflation would leap by about 50,000% over night. A $3 Big Mac would cost you $15,000 almost over night. A new car would rise from $20,000 to about $100 million.
That $1,000,000 would have the buying power of about $200 in today's dollars. |

Where is the federal government going to get $140,000,000,000,000 ($140 trillion)? I guess they could always print it.
So everyone has a million. People feel secure, they quit their jobs. The economy grinds to a halt. Creditor get the short end.
Then, prices will go up. The supply of stuff is the same, the supply of money is way up. Put three zeros (at least) to the price of eveything.
Soon, people are out of money. The economy is trashed. No credibility for the government.
People are moving to Mexico for economic reasons. Or Canada. |
