the irs can put a lien against your home bank account and any property that you. They ca put a levy on your home and property.

You will have penalties and interest on top of the amount you owe.
If you do not respond and make arrangements, you ca go to jail.

You would be eligible for a presidential appointment to a very high office.

Charles G
Most probable, you would be assessed a penalty and interest, and IRS would start collection action.

If the legal department in the IRS thought they could prove willful intent, they may start a criminal investigation. This, by the way, would be rare.

Depends... are you a senator or up for a cabinet position?

Straight to Jail, Do not pass GO..... your not a senator you can't get by with it...HAHA

The IRS would politely remind you a few times and invite you to set up a payment plan. If you didn't, they pull out the collection tool that's the envy of the debt collection industry: The Levy Axe. Your wages, accounts receivable, and bank accounts would all be subject to levy. Assuming that your personal wealth is commensurate with that kind of tax liability, they'd have their money in a few weeks or months at most.

NOBODY goes to jail for failure to pay. You only risk prosecution for fraud, tax evasion, or failure to file a return when ordered to do so by the IRS.

You would have a huge fine and possible jail time and would have to pay all the back taxes.

That depends on whether you are an ex-Senator.

I seriously doubt you "forgot" to pay that much! Unless you been in a coma for the past few years.
