Figure 20-25% for taxes & SS which would give you between $33,600 & 31,500. Plus depending on your tax bracket, dependents, and exemptions, you may pay less taxes. |

If you are getting $42,000 after taxes then your check would be $3500/month. |

Without knowing what state you would live and or work in, your filing status and number of dependents/allowances and your deductions there would be know way to tell. |

Take 28% of $42,000 and subtract that and divide by 52
Did you have math in HS??? |

depends on lots of other factors - like deductions for insurance, how many dependents you claim on your W4, etc.
as a rough estimate, take 35% off, so you're looking at something in the range of 25-28k |

You can go to FairTax.org and calculate it. Easies thing to do is to look at your current pay check stub. Give yourself back every thing except state income tax and any thing you are paying for health insurance. This will usually be about 20% based upon $42,000 take home. You would probably get to keep about $54,000. |
