Starting in May, the Treasury will begin sending economic stimulus payments to more than 130 million households. To receive a payment, taxpayers must have a valid Social Security number, $3,000 of income and file a 2007 federal tax return. IRS will take care of the rest. Eligible people will receive up to $600 ($1,200 for married couples), and parents will receive an additional $300 for each eligible child younger than 17. Millions of retirees, disabled veterans and low-wage workers who usually are exempt from filing a tax return must do so this year in order to receive a stimulus payment. |

To simply answer your question, not everyone is going to get this money. Those who will, should see the check sometime in May. |

they start sending them out in may-- it goes by the last 2 digits of your ss number. if you had your taxes direct deposit, it will be directly deposited, if you got a paper check it will take a little longer to get it. |

They get mailed out in May, and depending on what your SSN# ends in (last 2 digits), depends on the date the check is mailed out.
I believe the dates are:
00-45: May 19th
46-99: May 29th
Something along those lines...
Also, not everyone is guaranteed $600, or any money for that matter. You have to meet certain qualifications. Go to the IRS website for more info. |
