Have a GREAT day!
When can I expect my W-2 form?
I havent recieved my W2 form yet. Is there a specific date you should receive it by? Should I be expecting it in the mail? Online? Or in person? Just curious. Thanks!

la_la5678
By law they have to be in the mail no later than 1/31/09. You should receive it usually 3 to 5 days after that because it is sent via regular mail. Some jobs don't mail them they allow employees access to print them or view them online early and some hand them out at the work place. You should check with your Human Resources Dept to see how your company handles their distribution.

Uh, the year isn't over yet. You should receive it in January or very early February - if they are mailed they must be mailed by 1/31. Most companies either mail them out or hand them out with paychecks. Some provide them online and give you instructions on how to access yours.

chatsplas
Must be mailed by last day of January for the prior year's earnings.

So your 2007 W-2 is overdue and your 2008 not yet due.

They have to hand it to you, put it in the mail, or make it available on-line by January 31st. Most are still mailed. They cannot be cut before the end of the year, so it will be sometime after New Year before you'll get it.

PureOrLady
they must be mailed by 1/31/09. I usually have ours out by the 20th...

January.

nealeclark
The previous answers are correct. Legally they must be mailed on or before Jan 31.

Depending on the size of your company, they might even have the W-2 with your last paycheck. This is becoming more common with the technology out there today. Online options are becoming popular too.

Jss
The employer is required to mail it on or before Jan 31, 2009.

Tom
it has to be sent by the end of January in the mail.

Steve
It has to be postmarked by 01/31/2009.
