When can you file your taxes?
I have all my W-2's and I am ready to file. Can I file now if I know which form I need or do I have to wait for something from the IRS?

W2s and 1099 have to be mailed to the recipient by 1/31 so it is best to wait till you are sure all of them have arrived. You may forget the interest your bank paid and is reporting. If you only have a W2 and no other misc. income you can file as soon as the form is in your hand. Get yourself Turbo Tax - easy cheap and good for a $35 investment

No you dont have to wait for anything...go on...get that return!!

go to
www.irs.gov
there are several links there where you can file electronically from your computer.
Their site says that you can e-file your return as of January 12, 2007.

your ready to file!! You can go to an accountant, just check your local phone book. There's always H&R Block, or if you don't want to pay someone, check out Turbo Tax online. Its free and easy! Good luck with it!

job4izard
you can file as soon as you have all your w2's. If you have an income below 52000 you could qualify to e-file for free at irs.gov. Go there! The will have the answers that you need. Also If you would like you can call 1800-829-1040

Yes. if you have all your W2's and all your interest forms from the banks and whatever else you might need... (from financial institutes, house mortgage, etc) you can file.

If you go on line and use turbo tax, or any of the on line income tax programs.. (i like turbo tax) you can have your refund deposited directly into your bank and it usually is there with in 10 business days. ITS GREAT!!! If you are a first time user, you will need info from last years return. IT takes about an hour or so to file, but it is well worth it.... you will be able to print out a copy of your return for your files, you wont have to send anything in.

You can actually file your taxes when you have your w-2's.

Vrooommmmmmm
You can file your taxes when you have all your W-2s from all the places you've worked up to December 31st of 2006.

Sounds like you have all your W-2s, you can start selecting a tax-preparer or go to H&R Block at this minute.
