We were just wondering when do we have to start paying council tax? We heard it would start in April in the new tax year but we can't actaully find evidence of this. "Dim Blonde" they dont teach this basic stuff at school or uni!
they dont even teach basic cooking or how to cope with bills and finance!! (our home ec in school was finding out how many bits of sweetcorn and mushroom was in a pot noodle)
wish they would teach these " Life skills" Don't berate this person because of the school system that we tolerate and our government mess up!
I moved into my own place 2 years ago and had to learn myself and the council don't rate "newbies" either lol. I was
23!
To the questioner: as others have said, it's best to call the local council and confirm with them.

Well the year is assessed advance. If your student courses have completed , the new council tax year commences in April so it is reasonable to assume your payments will start then. |

you will have to start paying as soon as u are no longer official students, council tax does go from april to april but if you are jus starting to pay it you will have to pay say for september to april then from april you will get your full yearly bill. |

The first thing they should have taught you was how to live in our society. So let me educate you. Go to your local council and ask them.
Even if someone on here answers your question, it is only heresay. Go to your council and get the information as it applies to you in your situation.
Soon you will be out in the big wide world. It's time you learnt how to live in the big wide world. Our education system, clearly, is sorely lacking. Sending idiots out into the big wide world who know nothing about it. If you need important information, go to the people who manage it. |
