Sweet Muse
The official deadline is January 31st but I have had some crummy employers hold out til the middle of February!

They have to be post marked by January 31. I have had some post marked on January 31 but did not receive them until the middle of February. Still waiting on mine from employer as well.

Ive always heard Jan 31st. Ive never worked in payroll so I dont know for sure. Id say, if you dont get anything by then, make a phone call. There is no reason for them to prolong your tax returns because of their priorities or lack of attention to details.

taylorvillegirl
The IRS requires that they be postmarked by January 31.

What Jamie said, and the IRS is pushing employers with over a certain number of employees to make it available to their employees: down-loadable w-2's. Many employees do provide this service and if you have an ADP watermark or are a Wal Mart employee you can download your w-2 from Internet. Most times you need a code from Human Resources. ADP has their code on your check-stub.

good luck & blessings
