For 2007, the deadline is April 15, 2008. However, you can get an extension until October 15, 2008 by filing Form 4868. You must still pay in whatever you owe by April 15. |

If you have a filing requirement, you are supposed to file by 4/15.
If you file within 3 years and are entitled to a refund you would still get it. If you file after that, you would establish that you don't owe, but wouldn't get the refund.
if you owe and don't file, the statute never starts. |

you can file an extension by april 15th, which gives you 4 more months, but you have to have all your expected taxes paid by 4/15 - either thru withholding taxes or estimated payments |

For 2007.....
If you owe, April 15, 2008 is the last day to file without penalty.
If you have a refund coming, you can file up until April 15, 2011 and still receive the money. |

If you want a refund, they will only pay that within 3 years--so file NOW!
However, if you're obligated to file, they expect you to file, so start catching up. If you owe, pay them. If you're due a refund you only get it back 3 years, and 4/15 is deadline.
If you're talking 2007 taxes, it's 4/15/2007.
Your question is not clear. |

Traditionally, April 15th. However, you can apply for an extension. You can get these forms at the public library. Federal and state extensions. |

April 15th is the deadline to file your return or an extension to file. An extension allows extra time for a person to file the return, but it has to be done within that extended time. |
