April 17th this year..April 15th is a Sunday and 16th is Emancipation Day in DC

john alasdair
April 15th is a Sunday, and then April 16 is Patriot Day, so this year (2007) you have to file on April 17th.

April 17th. Due to the new Holiday, Emancipation. Must also be postmarked by that day. Don't procrastinate.

April 17th this year. If you file an extension, then it is automatically extended to August 17th. You can still file another extension to October 17th but, you need to show why you need the extension.

In any case, if you owe, you must pay by April 17th or you will be penalized.

Amy has it correct, but if you are going to efile, make sure your return is accepted by midnight on the 17th. If it is rejected you have a very short grace period in which to fix the errors.

April 15 but that's a Sunday this year so before midnight April 16. However, you can file for an extention (by midnight April 16) and then you'd have until October 15.

To file for an extention, you must pay your estimated taxes though. If you don't, when you do file next October, you're going to get hit with a penalty. Read the instructions on the extention.
