Your company has until the last day of January to send your W2 forms. Most of the information you need for taxes should be on your last pay stub for the year. |

An employer can't send a W-2 until after December 31st.
You do not need to request a W-2, the employer will send it to you as soon as they have it prepared.
Just make sure your employer has your current address. You can check that today.

In the USA, they must legally be postmarked by 01/31. You can request them any time after 01/01, but that doesn't mean you'll get them. |
