The House has passed a tax rebate bill currently being considered by the Senate. If a tax rebate passes, you will have to do nothing to get it. It will come to you automatically in the mail.
Nothing has passed Congress yet, so all details are subject to change. Estimates for refund checks range from May to July. Check out the referenced site below for an automated estimate of your rebate. |

First of all, the rebate is a proposal only and has not been signed into law!
If and when it does pass, you will not receive your rebate until June or July since they said it would take 10 weeks to even process the rebates AFTER Congress passed the law.
Yes, they would be mailed regular mail based on your 2007 tax return information. |

They still haven't passed it yet and it is not expected to until probably the beginning of March. You also have to fall into specific guidelines to receive any money. The government is expecting to start sending out tax rebates by the end of June. |

It looks like a very few will be going out at the end of May with the remaining being sent in June. That is if the Senate can agree on anything!!!! And yes, you will get it in the regular mail. |

The tax bonus law has not been passed. The House and Senate have to agree first. It will eventually happen.

The news I've read said it would not be possible to get the checks out until May/June at the earliest even if the law was passed right away. |

It's called the "economic stimulus plan" and it hasn't even been approved by the Senate yet.
Latest estimate is that, if it passes, checks would be mailed out in mid-June. |
