HOW MUCH - You would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350. If you had earned income or social security of at least $3000, you would get at least the minimum rebate of $300. Similarly, couples filing jointly can receive up to $1200. If you qualify for a rebate, you will receive $300 for each dependent child under 17.

WHEN - According to the IRS:

The IRS will begin sending taxpayers their payments in early May. Payments will continue over several weeks during the spring and summer. A payment schedule for taxpayers will be announced in the near future.

Keep checking the website below for updates to the rebate schedule.

They are shipping the checks starting in May. They will be shipped alphabetically and the whole process will take 10 weeks. If you are single and made over 3000 last tax year (you need to file or you will get nothing) you will get 600.

Prophet 1102
You also have to file your taxes first - only taxpayers will receive the credit.

Letters are coming out next week (starting in March 2008) telling individuals the amount they should expect to receive. Checks will start mailing out in May of 2008 and everyone should have received them in June of 2008
