When should I receive my W-2?
I know it's this month, but I haven't gotten mine yet. Should I be worried?
January 31st is the day they have to be mailed but like most people have said, companies should have it to you before then. Absolutely do NOT be worried yet, my husband and I have not recieved any of ours yet. If you don't get your W-2 a few days after February 1st then call your employer and ask them to send it again. If they have nto done this by the 15th of Feb. then you can file a complaint with the IRS and use your last pay stub to fill out the information yourself. The IRS prefers you to use your W-2 but there are options if something goes awry, so there is nothing to worry about.

No. By federal law, an employer can wait until January 31st to have your W-2 available. Also, they don't *have* to send it to you; they can keep it available at their site, unless you specifically call and ask for it to be sent to you.

Your W2 needs to be mailed no later than January 31. Most companies have them out long before then. By law that is the last day.

You should start worrying, should have by the end of the month at the latest.

Most employers prepare it and deliver it with your final paycheck for the month of January. I believe the law is that they are supposed to mail them by Jan 31.
