When teenagers get taxes taken out of their paycheck, isn't that technically "taxation without representation"?
something to think about.
Additional Details
Don't read too much into this question. I'm 25 years old. It's just something to think about.

To add to the other poster's comment. Most teenagers will get all of their taxes back in the form of a refund.

We've been paying taxes on college accounts for our daughters since they were in elementary school. It's because they earned income through investments.

Taxing teens that work isn't really taxation without representation. It's living in a society that needs to pay for services, roads, schools etc.

Besides, Biden said that it's patriotic to pay taxes.

If you fill out your W-4 as exempt as you are legally entitled to, you won't be taxed. If you fill it out any other way, you are taxed but you can get it all back at the end of the year, so you are really only lending the money to the government. You may be right about not being represented, but you are also not being taxed.

Something else to think about. Like how good you have it when you are a teenager.

No, this isn't true. Once you enter the workforce, your concerns are supposedly being represented by your Congress critters. The government represents you as a teenager by making sure your employer doesn't make you work long hours, or during school hours, or do anything else that would violate child labor laws.

No, most teenagers get nearly all of their tax money back (assuming they make what most teenagers do.) Secondarily, aren't they still using public roads, police, fire, schools etc.? Finally, they're still contributing to their social security.

what's age got to do with anything - you want a job? you pay taxes.

Nice try.

No because they have representation, they just can't vote for it yet.

Technically, for anyone under legal voting age that is working, yes it is. No one working before they are able to vote should have to pay income tax. I'd love to see someone try to get that passed through congress. Taxation without representation has been happening for a very long time. Just ask the actual residents of Washington, DC. They don't get a vote in the senate or the house of representatives. No one that doesn't get a vote because of our age restricted voting system should have to pay income taxes till they can vote.
