either as soon as you get all your w-4 forms, if you only had one job, you may be able to take your last check stub of 2007 into your tax account

Once you get your W-2 from your employer. They have until Jan 31st to send them out. Also any 1099's you would receive. Example: interest paid on your house, Interest earned, ect.

wizjp
the minute after you recieve all your tax information; W2, 1099, interest statements

As soon as you have all your W2 forms from all your employers. They have till the end of January to give them to you. Make Shure they have correct addres.

josiwales
january 11 which is Friday

Kute_N_Pretti
When you receive your W-2 forms after January 11th

SuzeY
Because of some IRS computer issues, they won't even begin processing returns until mid February. In any case, you should always wait until the first week of February, just to be sure that you have all of your tax documents in hand. I can't tell you how many times I've had to amend returns for people who filed in January, only to discover two weeks later that they had forgotten about bank account interest, or a job that they had for a couple of weeks, etc.

Once you receive all your W-2's and required forms (interest earned, etc.) I believe they are required to be postmarked by Jan 31.
