Mine is going into the savings account. Why? i simply don't need to buy anything. So i'll just put it away in the rainy day fund.

I'm with bostonia - I always aim for owing a few hundred bucks. I hate loaning the government money throughout the year.

I typically don't receive a refund since I HATE loaning the government money for upwards of 16 months interest-free. Usually I shoot for a debt of between $500 and $900. That avoids any penalties for underpayment of tax and allows me the use of MY money as long as the law permits.

This year will be different as I lost my job several weeks ago. I'll probably be looking at a couple hundred dollars in refunds between the Feds and State. Since I'm not working right now, it will go straight into the bank for living expenses as needed.

I don't know IF I'll receive a check this year - I might have to send THEM a check.

If I get a refund, I'll be paying down my debt.
