Start at www.irs.gov.

Look for the Forms and Publications section, then look for publications that mention Itemized Deductions, Expenses, etc.

jacksonhewitt.com offers a list of top 50 overlooked deductions and they also have something called deductions@work that offers job-specific things you can write off.

99+% of the "write-offs" are on the bottom part of page one of the 1040 long form and on Schedule A (Itemized Deductions).

Scanning these two pages would give you a good idea of the type of deductions available to everyone.
