Yes; my husband and I have used both turbotax.com and taxslayer.com. Both are excellent. Taxslayer.com has a very low, if any, fees ($10) and the site is usually up and running with no delays; filing is free if you are a military family. The turbotax.com website sometimes is down.

go to http://www.irs.gov, there is a link to FREE e-filing programs. They do exactly the same as a paid preparer, if you have nothing complicated, and by the sound of it you dont.
If you want to spend a little dough (because you are just rolling in the benjamins), www.taxslayer.com is very good too.

Don't go to Block. Just do Turbotax or TaxAct. eFile on the Federal only and the free Federal eFile. Then go to your State website. You can find it in any search engine. You type in your State along
with "department of taxation". E.g, I typed in California Department of Taxation on yahoo and "California Franchise Tax Board" came up. That's the government body that collects income tax {and I believe all taxes} for the State of California. I say all of that because I do not know a single State that charges on their website. So you can eFile the State return for free. If the IRS accepts your return, you should get your State back in 5 business days and your Federal in 10-15 business days depending upon how late in the season. This also depends upon the software not messing up. You have to keep checking to make sure it went through. I've bought very expensive software before and it didn't go through. I got all kinds of lies and excuses for why it didn't go through, depending upon which rep answered the phone. Don't bother buying expensive software.

I went through Turbotax.com. It was extremelly simple and finally I can see a return this year. Usually when I go to get them done at a tax service place, I end up paying the IRS back... I hate it!!!

I ALWAYS DO MY OWN ,ON H&R BLOCK ...TAXCUT...

IT IS REALLY EASY IF YOU ARE SINGLE AND THAT IS ALL YOUR DOING IS W-2. IT ONLY COST ME $44.

Go to www.IRS.gov and click on Free File. Check requirements/qualifications for each of the providers on the list. I like H&R Block's Tax Cut or Turbo Tax programs the best and almost everyone qualifies for free tax prep with them.

Y.S.
I've been using taxact for at least 5 years.
$16.95 for both and it's really easy.
