Where do i go to look up information on getting my tax return back?

I've never heard of getting it BACK.

In my country, if you make a mistake, you have to submit a new return with an explanation letter.

And it is super easy to get ahold of the Tax Dept by phone. They want your money after all, so they make it really easy for you to contact them. And make ABSOLUTELY SURE that you ask specifically about each and every benefit you may be entitled to. Because of standing orders from their bosses, the governmental tax consultants are forbidden from telling you themselves about each tax concession you may be entitled to. But they will quite happily answer you if asked a direct question about it.

I was audited once, and was told this by my tax representative. It was the most she could do to lead me into asking her those necessary direct questions.

Your question is not clear? You never get a tax return back unless the IRS returns it as being too flawed to process. If you want to know where your refund is call 1-800-829-4477 and plug in your ss# and other info asked for.

Getting your federal tax refund? check irs.gov "where's my refund" or call the IRS.

You can't get a tax return back once it's filed. You have to file an amended return to correct it.

Fool in the Rain
I assume from your question that you are waiting on a tax refund and want to know where it is at. If you know the exact amount of your refund, you can call 1-800-829-4477. It's an automated number, you'll need your social security number, filing status (single, married filing jointly, etc), and the amount of your refund. If you want to actually speak to someone from the IRS about your refund, you can call 1-800-829-1040.

Call the IRS...you can check at the website...but it isn't always to most accurate information. Also if there is any issue you can quickly *it is the government* solve it over the phone.
