I do my own taxes every year, and its really cheap. Go to taxact.com i's only about 30 bucks, and you get your money in a few weeks deposited into your account. I really dont understand taxes that much either, but the site makes it "Idiot Proof". noway to make a mistake. Good luck, it worked great for me the past 5 years. you have two options to chose from too, you can pay for it, or do the free version. i use the free one. |

Commercially, H&R Block is going to be about the most expensive. An independent preparer will be cheaper or you can email me through my profile and I'll quote you a rate. If you want to do it yourself, you can wade through the forms package for free or buy Turbo Tax or Tax Cut software. |

First of all you need to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. H&R Block has a Standard Guarantee. So, what you need to do is see if you have anything major on your taxes. H&R Block also has the program Tax Cut that has the Standard Guarantee on it as well. Just remember that you get what you pay for, and taxes are not something to go "cheap" on. If you do want to do it yourself to save money, you can always bring it into an H&R Block office and have a Second Look for a small fee. Unless you keep up with all the Fed. and State changes, you could be missing out on some credits or deductions that could save you money. Best luck to ya! |
