Because obedience from a higher authority is human nature. People will do things if those higher officials tell them to do so. And yea, people do not have to pay taxes at all, and if you dont want to you will go through a lot of crap to stop paying but in the end you will win because there is no law or constitution on paying taxes! |

It is unconstitutional for the government to tax your wages (income tax), the 16th amendment was never ratified, and most of what we think of as income isn't really income anyway.

Regardless of the constitutional backing of taxation, it is indeed immensely necessary for the structure of the U.S. and to maintain our current ways of life. How would you like it if there were no taxes? You wouldn't, because there would be no roads, no police, no non-profit hospitals, no border patrol, no food and drug inspectors. Our world and our infrastructure would come crashing down in what could only be described as an apocalyptic crash of everything we as Americans currently take for granted. Whatever the amount you pay in taxes is, you reap far more in the benefits. In fact, if anything the super rich should be the angriest about taxes, paying far far more than the government could really do for them. |
