Super Team | Who is Obama's $250,000 tax incentive really benifitting? |
Ok so I heard about Barack Obama proposed tax relief bill to those who are making less than $250,000 but I was just wondering who will it really and truly benefit?.I say this because most politicians in america makes less than $250,000.As I see it the only politicians this bill will not cover is the vice-president(if they make more than $250,000) and the president(which makes about some $400,000 per year in salary). As it stands right now it seems as his ''tax relief''proposal will only benefit just about every politician in america and somehow the middle class hard working americans(backbone of america)will end up footing most of the bill. Also why can't you'll see obama is a puppet whose strings are being pulled by greedy democrats.I say that because anyone in the right free thinking mind would not want to raise taxes(and destroy any potential job opportunities)in a time like this unless they were a frontline puppet whose strings are being pulled from behind the scenes by greedy,money-hoarding criminalistic cold-hearted fatcats.Little economic tip:Donot raise taxes on potential employers because that discourages potential entrupeneurs/employers to start businesses. The more an employer has to pay in taxes, the less money they have to expand their business and create more jobs,if anything because of any tax-hike they would start laying off people(as already proven)..Always analyze and read between the lines to really find out the truth of what any politicain says.So again who is this ''tax relief'' really covering,or is this just being used as a sham to rip off/hike up the taxes of the middle and lower class americans? What are your views?. Additional Details Also the real way politicians get extremely wealthy even though most of them make less than $250,000 a year is thru having stock options that come with that position(at the taxpayers expense),and then doing private investments on their own.Just in case anyone is wondering. |

WOW! Someone understands.....finally!
Raise taxes during a recession, thats smart. ::sarcastic:: Make our bosses and companies pay more in taxes so they cut our jobs and cause a depression in our economy. How does that man have supporters. (simple minded is the only answer I can come up with, well that, and people voting for a party and not the person)
NOBAMA! |

I say that we eliminate NAFTA and CAFTA problem solved. Companies return to America because now they get taxed on their imports. |

Politicians don't get stock options through their elected positions. It's the government, not GM they're working for. They have wonderful health insurance and pension programs, though.
It's not an incentive plan, but a promise not to increase taxes on those earning less than $250,000. McCain wants to make sure that everyone who makes a killing selling stock isn't taxed on it, by eliminating the already low capital gains tax (currently 20-25%), helping the wealthy. Warren Buffett was in a lower tax bracket than his secretary due to the low capital gains tax although he's a billionaire. |

You would sound so much better if you asked a question, instead of stating an opinion and pretending it was a question.
1. Actually, its household income, and most politicians, when looked at as part of household income, certainly do make 250K
2. You claim has been made before about taxing the rich -- however, you are incorrect in asserting that there is any proof of the assertion. It's a common Republican refrain "Don't tax the rich" -- when there's a recession -- its as you have said; when there is economic plenty its "don't tax the rich, it will cause a recession" - and so forth. Recessions come and go regardless -- the economy is driven primarily by consumers, who consume more when there is money to spend -- and in the last 8 years, while taxes have fallen from about 39% to about 31% aggregate on the richest 5% of Americans -- the ones supposedly responsible, in the fairy tale - for everyone else's prosperity -- jobs have not increased, and the average household earning 46,000$ has seen their purchasing power eroded by 2000$ per year. -- Obviously the scenario doesn't work to start with.
3. Mortgaging the same house over and over to use it as an ATM is one of the things that led to the mortgage crisis. Mortgaging our nation over and over to use it as an ATM (thus pushing the debt onto our children) will not work any better.
The sham and ripoff is that there are still people who pretend to believe that supplyside economics have any meaning -- they don't. The sham and the ripoff seems to me to be the endless posturing, lying, exaggerating, and misleading done by the party of the Right. W is just the culmination of 40 years of lies and short term schemes to retain power.
Time for it to end.

you are correct it benefits no one. You see the people he wishes to tax pay 60% of the taxes now. The people making less than 30,000 a year pay so little it is pathetic. So yes it will hurt in the long run as many will see lay offs and downsizing due to what he wants done, The economy is already down his plan will kill it |

Politicians want to spread the wealth from those that make more to the people who vote for them. People who rely on welfare and food stamps overwhelmingly vote democratic.
Taxes are a way for people to get elected- they promise cuts for certain groups and those groups elect them hoping for the tax break. This is why we need the fair tax, 23% on all items. Then politicians can't dangle taxes in front of our faces to get us to vote for them!
As for the tax on people making over 250K, I'm fairly certain that the CEO, COO and IT directors and several others in my company make more than 250K. We have 600 employees. They've already let go 1/4 of our office this year (I work in the mortgage industry). If this tax plan goes through I'm betting a lot more job losses or less raises in order to pay the higher taxes.
It has been proven time and time again that higher taxes on businesses means higher prices for consumers and lower business investment in the US. It will force companies to move to other countries.
Clinton also promised to lower taxes for the "average" american and less than 3 months into office raised taxes for everyone. This is the democratic pattern, promise lower taxes, get into office, raise taxes. The messiah is brainwashing his followers. |

Well, he will be raising taxes on the wealthier, and helping the lower class, so if you ask me, I think the rich should help the poor, instead of being so darn greedy, and want to keep everything for themselves. |
