Of course it's not the Pope!!!! That's a different church altogether and I think besides funding catholic priests most of their money will be going to settle compensation claims.
It'll be the Church of England who pays them from all the money donated to them by the public who think they can buy their way into the non-existant heaven that has been preached at them for hundreds of years. |

Nope, not tax money. Vicars are paid by the Church, usually the Church of England, from money the church earns from it's various properties and investments. |

The church pay them the cash, they are so very very rich. & powerful.
My parents wanted to sell their farm in the 80's & the church asked to buy the land, my parents refused to as they wanted to sell farm as a whole, believe me the church screwed my parents after that, the estate agent they were using refused to help sell the farm, its a long story but my parents lost alot of money because of them. Believe it or not i dont care, i saw the letters. |

Vicars are paid by the Diocese, part of the Church of England, which in turn earns its income from all the properties etc. the Church owns. The Diocese also collects the fees vicars charge for services such as weddings & funerals, this money goes into the pot toward the vicars' pay.
The parish is expected to reimburse in full the costs of office, such as transport, administration costs and telephone bills, which it tries to do from collections, raffles, fundraising events etc. A lot of parishes don't manage to do this, so the vicar bears the cost out of his/her own pocket. |
