Gary L | Who will raise our taxes more? ? |
McCain or Obama? |
|

Truth be told, it is the congress and senate that raises or lowers taxes. A president can only make a proposal and sign or veto a bill once the house and senate have voted.
That said, McCain's plan is the only plan that will lower anyone's taxes.
Obama is either really stupid about how things work or he thinks the middle class is stupid. Any taxes placed on businesses or the so called "rich" will be passed on to the middle class in high cost of goods and services as well as lost jobs. The cost of a gallon of milk will go up to pay for that tax increase Obama wants for business. So essentially the poor and the middle class will get a tax increase. That big sucking sound of businesses moving to other countries is because of the high taxes in the US. Low taxes encourages businesses to hire and expand.
Obama will raise taxes on everyone... Keep in mind that Obama wants to, cancel/allow to expire, the bush tax cuts, if this happens, everyone who pays taxes will see a hike in income taxes even if his $250,000 plan isn't implemented.
Obama's ideas remind me a lot of Carl Marx's ideas and a little of that one leader's ideas that ran Germany for a while. And both of their countries failed. |

Depends on what you make, Obama wants to return to the Clinton era tax scheme for those making 250,000 or more. McCain would tax your medical benefits. For me McCain would add an incredible large tax burden on me, Obama's plan I would be a little better off than I am now.
Whose rhetoric?
"Summary
The McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee both claim that Obama has voted 94 times “for higher taxes.” We find that their count is padded.
After looking at every one of the 94 votes that the RNC includes in its tally, we find:
Twenty-three were for measures that would have produced no tax increase at all; they were against proposed tax cuts.
Seven of the votes were in favor of measures that would have lowered taxes for many, while raising them on a relative few, either corporations or affluent individuals.
Eleven votes the GOP is counting would have increased taxes on those making more than $1 million a year – in order to fund programs such as Head Start and school nutrition programs, or veterans’ health care.
The GOP sometimes counted two, three and even four votes on the same measure. We found their tally included a total of 17 votes on seven measures, effectively padding their total by 10.
The majority of the 94 votes – 53 of them, including some mentioned above – were on budget measures, not tax bills, and would not have resulted in any tax change. Four other votes were non-binding motions related to conference report negotiations." |

I will make it simple for you Gary. If you make more then 250,000 per year you will pay an extra 3% on everything over 250,000. So if you make 300k you will pay a whole $1500.00 extra in taxes. If you make less then 200k per year you will pay about $1,000.00 less in taxes under Obama. As for McCain your taxes will not change. That is what both are saying, I don't know if I believe either one. |

In case you haven't noticed, we are going to run a $1 Trillion deficit this year alone. That's $1,000,000,000,000.00!!
Sometime in the future, taxes will have to go up! Period. Whether it's the president or the president after that. We can't keep putting our debts on a credit card. |

NEITHER. Only Congress can raise your taxes. That's why our tax system is unbelievably complicated. McCain wants to eliminate the capital gains tax which is already a very low 10-15%, so the wealthy won't be taxed when they make killings on the stock market. And McCain wants to tax medical benefits.
The Bush administration has created a huge national debt, which is dragging on our economy and creates the likelihood of future tax increases to pay it off. The question is how the taxes will be spread around. Warren Buffett's secretary was in a higher tax bracket than he was, although his income was so substantially more. His income was largely capital gains, currently barely taxed at 10-15%, but under McCain eliminated! |
