and i also wanted to know what having your tax refund preparation fee deducted from ur tax refund check has to do with any sort of delay in receiving the stimulus check?

Having your fees taken out of your refund does not delay the paper checks. It only delayed those who received their refund via direct deposit, because instead of getting the stimulus as a direct deposit as well, they will be sent a paper check instead. |

For the fees to be taken out, your refund was sent by the IRS to Block or whatever preparer, then they took out your fees and deposited the rest to your account. The IRS had THEIR account info, not yours, so can't very well deposit your rebate to your account when they don't know what it is. So you'll get a paper check in the mail. |

I'm getting my check early, but I have no idea why. Our last 2 digits are 91, so I was expecting it to come in July. I got a notice in the mail on Tuesday telling me to expect it by the 23rd of this month (that's the date they will mail it).
I'm so glad I don't have to wait until July. |

thats a good thing some people are getting there checks in early. Im sure its not in the order that they said. I guess they decided to pick numbers out of a hat!
that sucks that if you had your fees taken out of your return you will recieve a paper check instead of direct depsit even though you got your tax refund direct deposited. I guess if we all new that before hand it would have been a different story. fact is irs doesnt have your bank info the third party you filed through does. |

It's been noted in other posts that if you receive a refund anticipation loan or had fees deducted from your refund the IRS will send a check rather than direct deposit since they don't have YOUR bank account information. However, I've seen several examples of where folks in this situation have received their checks earlier than the schedule shows. I've seen this both in my experience as an IRS telephone representative as well as my daughter's situation. Hers should have been mailed 5/30 but it was mailed 5/16.
Payments could come earlier for another reason. The IRS is implementing a new computer system that posts transactions daily rather than weekly. The vast majority are processed on the old system, but each year more and more are processed on the new. This is why the first payments started going out on 4/28 rather than 5/2. But since there is no way for a taxpayer to know which system processed it, the IRS only has one schedule posted.
So if yours comes early--you're in luck! |
