Why do you all just sit back and take it, I am talking about the item on the BBC1 news this evening about rubbish collections only being fortnightly, but I doubt the council taxes will go down. I live in Spain, I have just paid the equivalent of the council tax for the year, a total of 80€ or so, and we get a rubbish collection DAILY...why do you all just moan but not do anything like protest? |

You are absolutely right! I have a brother in Spain (San Juan, Alicante) where they have a couple of big skips on the street which are emptied every evening. I was impressed, and wondered why we can't do that here. As to why we don't protest! I really do not know! And we have a lot to protest about. We are taxed out our brains at every twist and turn, spied on heavily, and we have a government that does exactly as it pleases. We have an inefficient health service, inept police and increasingly expensive transport! Why do we not rise up and throw these a*******s out of their comfy offices! |

the councils have been infiltrated by fools that cant see any further than their own greed. The only outcome will be people flytipping all over the place or having bonfires at nite . public safety will be put at risk in the warm summer months and vermine will rip the plastic bin sacks to pieces and rubbish will be strewn all over the place |

This country dont, we are the highest payers but came last in the world when it comes to our Kids.

I live in spain too, and the Hacienda, sure you know who they are, took 1000 euros from my bank account for no reason at all and wont tell me why they did, also i once got charged 2000 euros for some street lights for some new appartments that arent even on my block, and i did protest and even took them to court, and ended up losing money, so sometimes its best to just take it. |
