sjl333 | Why do you pay TAX in America when there is no law saying you have to? |
I watched Zeitgeist the movie and they interviewed 2 ex-IRS employees who no longer pay tax. They said they investigated fully to try and find a law stating that they had to pay, but COULD NOT FIND ONE!
Stop paying it as it all goes to the Federal Reserve (a private company run by frauds and murderers apparently!)
The movie is very interesting - comments please? |

I've got news for you, there is a law requiring most people to pay an income tax. It is Title 26 of the U.S. Code. You can read it at http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/26/usc_sup_01_26.html or at http://uscode.house.gov/download/title_26.shtml
Here are some websites for you to read to dispel that idiocy you accepted from Zeitgeist.
http://www.quatloos.com/hereisthelaw.htm
http://evans-legal.com/dan/tpfaq.html
http://webskeptic.wikidot.com/zeitgeist-income-tax
Sherry Peel Jackson was convicted of four counts of willful failure to file income tax returns. She was sentenced to four years in federal prison. She will still have to pay the back taxes and penalties. Her family will be lucky if they get to keep their house.

Re: Income taxes all go to the Federal Reserve.
B.S. and a little research will show that to be false.
The amount of income tax revenue collected in 2006 was approximately $1.04 trillion. http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=203
The amount on interest on the debt paid in 2006 was approximately $406 billion. http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/ir/ir_expense.htm
Corporate income taxes don't even come close to covering the military budget, so forget about all the other government agencies. Face it, while a large portion of the income tax pays interest on the debt, the rest does pay for government services.
The government borrows money by issuing securities, such as T-Bills, T-Notes, and T-Bonds. These are sold at auction and anyone can buy these securities, even you. The Federal Reserve does not buy these securities at the auction. The Federal Reserve buys the securities it holds on the open market. The open market is where holders of government securities sell their securities before the maturity date. This is because the government won't redeem a security before it matures. Therefore, if a holder needs their money before the maturity date, they have to find a secondary person to buy the security.
In 2006, the Federal Reserve only held about $800 billion of the approximately $8.5 trillion government debt. In 2006, the Federal Reserve collected approx. $36.5 billion in interest on those securities. However, AS REQUIRED BY LAW, the Federal Reserve returned excess earnings to the U.S. Treasury. In 2006, the Federal Reserve returned approx. $29.1 billion to the U.S. Treasury. This can clearly be seen on the independently audited financial statements of the Federal Reserve.
http://www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/rptcongress/annual06/sec6/c3.htm
I bet someone told you the Federal Reserve had never been audited too.
Re: The Federal Reserve is a private company.
More B.S. The Federal Reserve is a congressionally chartered organization. It is controlled by a 100% government agency at the top called the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors are each appointed by a President and confirmed by the Senate for terms of 14 years. Members of the Board of Governors cannot be officers, directors, shareholders or even employees of any bank.
National banks are required to become members of the system. State banks may become members if they meet certain requirements. To become a member of the system, a bank must SUBSCRIBE to shares in one of the Federal Reserve district banks. The amount they are required to subscribe to is set by law. A member bank can hold no more or no less than the required amount. The shares cannot be traded, sold, or even given away. The shares confer no rights of ownership beyond the par value of the stock and the only voting rights a member bank has is a single vote for six seats of the nine member board of directors of a district bank. Private individuals, corporations, foreign governments, etc. are not allowed to hold stock in the Federal Reserve district banks. |

Title 26 of the United States Code is the law. People who believe this complete nonsense and waste of time only find themselves facing back taxes, penalties, fines, interest, seizures of assets, and possible jail time. The movie that you saw is garbage. |

THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I SAW THEM ON THE INTERNET:
Nobody ever really landed on the moon - it was a giant hoax. What you saw on TV was filmed in Utah.
Elvis is still alive, and performing marriage ceremonies in Las Vegas.
It is unconstitutional for the government to tax your wages (income tax), the 16th amendment was never ratified, and most of what we think of as income isn't really income anyway.
Excuse me now....I just won 2 million pounds in the online UK lottery when my email was randomly selected, and I have to go answer the email.....

Why does Yahoo allow raving lunatics to post here? It's called Freedom of Speech. That doesn't make it factual though.
Only fools and idiots believe that there's no law that implements the Federal income tax. Which are you?
That "movie" is about as realistic as Snow White or Cinderella. Some entertainment value maybe, but totally without any factual basis. Any IRS "agent" that claims that they couldn't find a law has suffered a SERIOUS break from reality and is in need of immediate mental health services. Why would you take the ravings of a madman as fact?
FYI, the LAW is Title 26 of the US Code. Google it if you want to read it, all 64,000-odd pages of it.
And just to clarify a few points for the High School dropouts. Article 1, Section 8 of The Constitution grants the power to lay taxes to Congress. It is silent on the type of taxes that can be levied, meaning that income taxes ARE authorized by The Constitution at the root level. Due to a successful court challenge in the late 1800s, income taxes were declared direct levies subject to apportionment among the several states. That was an impossible bar to reach in those days (though it would be child's play in the modern computerized age -- be careful what you wish for!) and that effectively killed them off for a few years. The 16th Amendment to The Constituition was proposed in 1909 and ratified in 1913. It simply states that incomes may be taxed without apportionment. That effectively trumped the ruling from the 1800s and resulted in the Federal income tax as we know it today. Some have tried to claim that the 16th Amendment wasn't properly ratified but the courts have consistently held, without reservation, that it WAS properly ratified and that income taxes ARE legal. In fact there is SO much case law on this fact that even attempting to raise that as a defense in court will attract a fine of up to $25,000 for wasting the court's time by raising a spurious defense.
While it is true that a few folks have dodged the bullet on crimminal proceedings for tax evasion -- ignorance of the law IS a defense in Federal tax cases unlike most crimminal proceedings -- they are batting .000 on the civil actions for collections of the taxes due. The truth is that they all pay in the end, one way or another, often many times what they would have paid had they paid on time. At least one crackpot refers to the late Mr Russo and his Freedom From Fascism movie. He died penniless due to his tax debts and left his heirs a MOUNTAIN of work clearing his estate. Nice guy, huh? As Forrest Gump would say, "Stupid Is as Stupid Does." |

Ecclesiastes

One of those ex-IRS employees was Sherry Jackson. She was indicted, and then convicted, of four counts of willful failure to file tax returns, and is now serving four years in federal prison. United States v. Sherry Peel Jackson, No. 1:07-cr-00108-ODE-GGB-1 (N.D. Ga. 2/20/2008).
That means that a jury of 12 people unanimously agreed that her failure to file a tax return was "willful" because she knew she was required to file a return and pay the federal income tax, and her failure to do so was therefore criminal. |

It's sort of like people here in the U.S. saying that they've got a constitutional right to get an abortion. You won't find the word "abortion" (or any reference to it) anywhere in the U.S. Constitution. And yet, the courts have interpreted and decided that the Constitution protects that right. Disagree or not, the law permits it.
Taxes are similar. Laws have been made that required "interpretation" by the Courts. The courts have interpreted them and made it quite clear in a long list of decisions that taxes can be collected.
Here's information that you (and those ex-IRS employees who were interviewed) need to read:
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-utl/friv_tax.pdf
Take your time reading this. (There are so many cases, it will take you a while.)
The only things you have to do -- death and taxes. |

Buy anything there is sales tax.
Only way you don't pay tax is not working, or being paid cash.
Too many people in U.S. getting government aid, that's the main reason for paying tax. People who don't work have get income from somewhere, or they rob and kill people to survive |

It is a term called Capitis Diminutio Maxima. For example, your name is John Doe. The government can not directly invade on your rights as a human being, so they create an artificial person name JOHN DOE. This name, created by Capitis Diminutio Maxima is on every transcript/notice from the government that you receive. You blindly choose to waive your rights and accept the case of this artificial person every time the government asks of you.
YOU do not have to go to court, but the artificial person that YOU agreed to represent does. |

I don't pay income tax and I make a big chunk of change every year. What the government doesn't know about will not hurt them. I agree, do not be suckered in by the government. The IRS is shabby to say the least, and I really think that money is better off in my pocket than some dirtbag who will spend it on things that they don't need. There are two america's, one that lives like kings, and one that watches the kings get richer. |
