Why does everyone pay income tax if it's a "voluntary tax?"?
After I saw this movie "America: Freedom to Facism" I'm shocked at how many people pay their income taxes. There isn't a friggin law on any books anywhere that says you have to. Plus it wasn't ratified by the necessary states, income isn't defined, it's not apportioned or an excise tax, and the supreme court has even ruled against any taxes that aren't apportioned or direct. Seriously, watch this movie if you don't believe me. It's always like the third most viewed movie on Google Video.

It's not a voluntary tax. It's voluntary SELF ASSESSMENT. If you don't self assess -- i,e, file a tax return on time -- the IRS will do it for you and you'll probably pay much MORE in taxes than you would if you filed on time

That film is about as realistic as Snow White or The Wizard of Oz. Some entertainment value maybe, but it's not factual information. And yes, I have watched it a number of times. Good for a few laughs, but that's about it.

·THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I SAW THEM ON THE INTERNET:

Nobody ever really landed on the moon - it was a giant hoax. What you saw on TV was filmed in Utah.

Elvis is still alive, and performing marriage ceremonies in Las Vegas.

It is unconstitutional for the government to tax your wages (income tax), the 16th amendment was never ratified, and most of what we think of as income isn't really income anyway.

Excuse me now....I just won 2 million pounds in the online UK lottery when my email was randomly selected, and I have to go answer the email.....

;-}

Then don't pay, but the 16th amendment says otherwise, and you can believe the farse that people put out, don't be surprised when you come home from work one day and find an auction in progress.

Amendment XVI
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

And of course if I make a short movie becomes truth., are you out hunting for the National treasure also. Notice when they make a claim about the 16th amendment they make a claim that it was cited in a recent court case , but they can't name the case.

and why would the Federal reserve act need to have been a constitutional Amendment??; so Congress doesn't have the power to create offices in the government, nor the power to how it will operate, it must pass constitutional amendment to change how it operates,
What does the Federal Reserve Act and the Income Tax Amendment have to do with each other?
Since these Morans spent 3 months searching for a law, they should have tried Google

It's a shame that everyone who has used your logic has gone to jail. Don't believe everything you read or see in a movie.

Um, you can be duped by the propaganda or you can choose to use your brain. The 16th Amendment states,
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration. "

This amendment has been accepted as properly ratified, and the Supreme Court has ruled it valid on many occasions.

The Supreme Court did in fact rule that the original income tax passed by Congress was unconstitutional because it wasn't apportioned or direct, however, that ruling came before the 16th Amendment was ratified. It was that particular case that caused the 16th Amendment to come about.

In general, people pay taxes because they respect the law and the consequences that come with failing to abide by it. If you don't like the tax law, vote for people who will abolish it. But, don't think the government will ever do away with taxes altogether. Yes, Ron Paul would wipe out the income tax, but that doesn't mean he do away with taxes altogether. He would instill a flat tax, or a National Sales Tax, in its place. You would most likely pay about the same amount.

The only way there would ever be serious tax cuts in this country is if there was also serious spending cuts. Since politicians make their fortune and keep their power by spending money, don't bank on it.

You would be much better off believing movies about UFOs, vampires, and yetis than you would believing a movie made by illegal tax protesters. Despite their claims about their "legal research," every arguement they have ever made has been defeated in court.

No tax protester has ever won a court case saying he did not have to file a return and pay income tax. A few have beaten tax fraud charges due to "lack of business acumen" (a polite term for stupidity), but none have ever been excused from paying tax.

There are 2 broad categories of tax protesters. They are (1) con men, and (2) their victims. After his latest conviction, tax protester Irwin Schiff tried to get out of IRS penalties by arquing that his obsessive belief in tax protester nonsense constitued mental defect.

It is voluntary. You can pay it or choose not to and go to jail.

There are people that have one on Constitutional issues...but the voluntary bid is not one of them...Voluntary compliance = self assesed. Due to propaganda in our education people in general are mislead into thinking that the 16th Amendment created the income tax. According to a unanimous decision by the supreme court, the 16th Amendment did not give congress any new taxing power. Also the purpose of the 16th Amendment was to prevent congress from defining an income tax as a direct tax. Congress's power to place a tax "on" incomes is in Article 1 Section 8 Clause one. However the tax "on" income is actually a tax on the activity that produces the income. So the challenge is....to earn an income am I involved in an activity that is a privilige? About 99.9 percent of the USA population have no clue what a Federal Reserve Note, or what the concept of a direct and indirect tax is. This includes judges and lawyers.
