God
Why don't they deduct taxes from babbysitting jobs?
Babbysitters are mooching off the system by not paying taxes like everyone else. Shouldn't parents be also fined for employing undocumented and underaged workers under-the-table?

If a person earns enough money babysitting during the year to be required to pay taxes, they are expected to file a tax return, the same as any other type of self-employed individual who earns that much money.

There's no "mooching" involved. There's also nothing illegal at all about parents hiring occasional babysitters and paying them in cash, no matter what age they are.

Babbysitting is a dangerous job, that is why your pay is tax free.
They have to get danger money.

What's a babby?

Charles G
Never have "babbys"

Bullwinkle J. Moose, esquire
yes they should however money earned under a certain amount is also tax exempt and as such would only clog up the government in further bureaucracy. So I feel that some baby sitters (especially hot 16 y.o's) are very patriotic in avoiding paying taxes that would only be refunded in April.

Miter Binisderty
For a person to have to pay taxes, they have to be legally registered for the job and have proof of the hours they work and be registered for the employer. Also, babysitters are usually paid in cash, so there is no evidence where they got it from. And it's not like babysitting is a bad thing. They're not going to make a "babysitting bust" or anything.
