Why pay taxes ?
Why is it we pay income taxes to a government that refuses to uphold the constitution?

With clear abuse of the 1st, 2nt, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 15th, 16th amendments in my recent memory. I've refused to pay income taxes and have not filed for the past 7 years.

The IRS has yet to answer the simple question or compel me to pay.
What law compels me to pay income taxes?

If the IRS can't tell me the answer.
Is there anyone out there that can ?

Why should we pay for a government that dose not do it's basic function the protection of individual rights?

No more answers about civic duty because my instructor said.

"An individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law."

Martin Luther King, Jr.

The great part of this country is that you can disagree with the government. I agree that the government needs to do a better job of protecting individual rights.

However this does not relieve you of the obligation to pay your income tax. The only reason your earnings have value is because of the US Government and you must do your part to support the country, even if you disagree with the administration.

Let's see. Do you enjoy being safe? You you like having police you can call? How about kids having a school to go to. parks to play at. That is why we pay taxes. To get things done. If you don't like the way the governemnt is working - get your but out there and lobby, vote, run for office, do something other than complain to make a difference!

If you are willing to pay back taxes when they catch up to you or willing to go to jail, then go on with your bad self.

We pay taxes so that the Gov't can keep us "in-line" and "submissive". You see......,if they can keep us jumping through hoops, fetching, and all that jaz...then they can remain in control. By complying and doing taxes,, it's an annual form that actually when filed really means:; Yes sir, Uncle Sam I am still your peon, I'm all yours. I won't stand up and rebel. We all follow suit (or almost all) and do the yearly paperwork, they examine the opposers, and try to quiet them, if that don't work .......don't think for one moment they don't have "issue resolvement" groups.! Drone on fellow worker bee!!!!!!
