Will I be able to claim child tax credit for 2006 yr?
I am pregant and due in November. Will I be able to claim this child on my 2006 taxes. We have two other children who have been eligible for this credit.

Just wondering if it matters that the child will only have been **technically** in my residence for under two months.

You can claim a child as long as he or she is born before Jan 1, 2007. You can claim a child whether he or she lived or died in that year. You need to obtain a social securtiy card for the child before you can claim him or her. Good luck on the new baby, hope everything works out fine!

I am thinking that you will be able to carry the child.

Me
You will be able to claim your child you are having in November. As long as you have your child by Dec 31st!!!!! lol

Yes, you'll be able to claim the child

Dwight D J
you can claim the child tax credit as long as you give birth prior to 12/31/06

if you claim Earned Income Credit, they cap it at 2 kids

Yes you can because you were pregnant for 2006 and your child lived. I think it's because you endured exspenses.

tsbr1963
yes, absolutely your child will be counted as a deduction

jlcaooscl
as long as he is born in 2006, yes, even if it is 12/31...

battle-ax
If you needed to ask then maybe you don't need to deduct.
