Will I get $300 or $600 tax rebate check?
i earned $8919.58 in income, over $700 taken out in federal tax. I received my tax refund check and it was about $680 so I only paid roughly $20 in taxes. Will I get $600 because over $700 was taxed or $300 because I got such a huge percentage back??

Your rebate will be $300.

You would only get more than $300 if you paid more than $300 in taxes. You only paid $20.

You will get $300 only. Refund is equal to your tax on the return or mimimum $300 if your qualified income exceeds $3000.

For more information on the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html

300 for singles and 600 for married i believe..
but im curious.. why did you give the government a interest freee loan of 680 bucks...
had you put that money into a simple savings acccount
at 3% you would have paid your taxes of 20 bucks with the interest.. ..
why do you people over pay thier taxes and then get all excited the government gives it back to them interest free..

Visit www.irs.gov, there is a calculator there to figure your rebate.

Go here http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/ this should give you an estimate of how much you will be getting back.

It's your NET tax that counts, and that means the amount you actually ended up paying. That's the $20. So you'll get $300.

The tax stimulus rebate is based on the income you earned not on how much you were taxed. If you had an earned income of over $3000.00 you should get a $300.00 check. You can get $600.00 if you are married or $300.00 additional per child.

from what i understand as long as you made over 3000 in earned income you should get 600 back if you are single. 1200 if married filing jointly. it has nothing to do with how much you paid in or got back. the 300 is for some of the people that did not earn even 3000. hope this helps. but you should be able to look it up at the irs.gov site.
