No, you won't get the stimulus check or a refund if you owe back taxes unless you have more coming back than what you owe. Ironic isn't it? They advise NOT to use it to pay bills or save it because it is supposed to help the economy. That's a laugh. But I guess taking it for taxes owed is helping THEIR economy like taking the extra SS money and not paying it back. Double standards I say. Wouldn't we all be in a mess if we followed their example?
What irks me the most is that the money came from two areas that probably need it the most.........not raising food stamp benefits for those needing them and not extending unemployment benifits to fund the stimulus package. How generous.

If you owe back taxes the IRS will keep everything that they can control. No..you will not get a refund or a rebate. They will also take your state refund. IRS 1-800-829-7650
