Anything is possible, the only question is time. For example, who back in 1988 would have thought that the Berlin War was soon to fall and that Germany would be re-united, that the Cold War was coming to an end and the USSR would fall?
At any rate, does it really matter if Ireland is re-united? The idea of nationalism and the nation-state is going by the way-side. The EU is moving towards federalism and a Europe of the Regions. When that happens it won't matter if Northern Ireland is part of a Ireland or part of the UK or seperate, we will always be under the EU, or whatever it will be called then. The United Regions of Europe (URE) perhaps?

Probably not. Irish people have a real grudge against British people, even now and in the South of Ireland. I've lived in Ireland for nine years and I still get flack for being half English!

Heck of a question that one. It's nearer than it's ever been but there are still a lot of people who don't want to be united. When a tribal warfare thing such as this has gone on for so many years there are many who have lost loved ones in the fighting and it's hard for them to forgive. Maybe when this generation has died off and the new generation has not experienced The Troubles it will come to pass.
