Will benefits be affected with the recession?
Im a full time working single mum and i rely on my working tax credit to help with nursery fees so i can go out to work, and not just sit around at home all day letting the government and tax payers pay for me.

Will this be affected with the recession, or should things like tax credit not be affected? I really dont want to give my job up because im unable to afford nursery fees.

Thanks

A very well done to you for working, tax credits will not not be affected by the downturn. I too rely on tax credits to pay for my child and working, and not wasting time like some people.

Well done,

tinkerbell
No, i don't think it will effect Benefits, as if this is the case how can they be letting more and more people everyday sign on.

nanook570
i dont think tax credits will be affected, if anything they'll be taking more money off those that receive it as it is a government based "benefit".I just got my award notice through from tax credits and my husbands money is going up (he's the main bread-winner of the household) but my money is going down and i'm the one that stays at home to look after our son who's not old enough to go to school yet.

Maybe you should have thought about nursery fees etc before you had a child?

If you cant afford them dont have them.

Discovery
I hope it does. Not for you though, you are working and need extra assistance at this time. BUT why not make a some of the people on the dole redundant? Sorry, but there are no more public funds for you.
