Will i get a tax refund if i made less than $25,000.?
I am single and only have one job. I live at home and I am not being claimed by anyone.

it depends on how many exemptions you have on your W4 & similar state form. That form dictates how much your employer withholds from ur check.

you live at home. is it your home? can u claim head of household? if so, u'll get addl deduction for that.

The question cannot simply be answered by knowing ur income. You might or might not get a refund based on other factors such as the ones I've listed.

Many ppl have their withholdings set so they'll break even at tax time becausse they want to use their money all year long. Other ppl have withholdings set so they'll get a lot of $ taken out of each check, for the express purpose of getting a refund at the end of the year.

The easiest method is the quick 1040EZ available at your post office, libraries, online & through the mail. It takes less than 10 minutes & you'll know exactly what ur refund will be.

If you're not satisfied w/the amt of refund u received, check with your employer. You can fill out new forms to change your withholding and have a different outcome next year.

You should if you had at least $2010 withheld for federal income tax. This is unless you qualify for certain credits, such as Education. or have paid Student loan interest.

This is based on you earning $25,000 all from wages. If you earned less, then the figure I quoted would be less depending on your exact income.

How much federal w/h was taken? the first 8950.00 you make is not taxable to you. That leaves $16050.00 taxable income and that liability on that is $2003.00. so box 2 of your w-2 minus 2003.00 is your refund. Thats not itemizing or any deductions thats just straight shootin.

swt_angelina05
How much you made is not what's in question (by itself), you have to know how much you paid in taxes. If more than required for your tax bracket, you should get money back.

Depends on how much you had deducted from your paychecks.

If you had Single - zero exemptions you should be pretty close to breaking even assuming you didn't have a significant amount of additional income (Savings interest).

You can. It depends. If you're not sure, why don't you use one of those free income tax programs that are available online?
