Depending on how much you falsified. You may be able to get away with probation. Federal cases tend to be high dollar and the low dollar cases usually get probation.

If you're a certified public account, you will almost certainly go to
jail..A lot has to do if it has to do with weather you are keeping books for your own company as well. Anyway you look at it , it is still fraud. If it has to do with family finances, you might get a slap on the wrist, but I wouldn't count on it.
