If you owe the IRS, then they'll take what you owe them from your stimulus check. The letter you got just says the total of your rebate - you'll get another letter telling you what was taken. If you owe more than the total you are eligible for, then it will all be taken. |

owed is past tense meaning you don't owe now,so did you pay them already or not?if you paid your balance in full then you will get your rebate and maybe soon as tomorrow or sometime this week,but if you owe and your check is less than your debt then your whole check will be taken,but if some is needed to pay your debt then you'll just get the remaining balance.
