Will you get the $300 or $600 rebate check if you only made $1500 all year?
how much would they get? is it $300 or $600?

& my friend said he filed his taxes last year & was suppose to get back about $600 but than he never mailed in his taxes!!

can he still get that money back ? (from the work he did in 2006) or is it too late for that>?

1. You need $3000 in "qualifying income" in 2007 to be eligible for a rebate. $1500 is not enough to qualify for a rebate.

2. You have until April 15, 2010 to file your 2006 federal income tax return and still receive a refund.

Brenda
Depends on the DAS (deductions at source) . . . how much the employer deducted from the pay cheque in the first place.

Filing a late return should not affect the overall refund ~ however, they may ding you for penalties on the late filing.

According to the notice I received, you must have at least 3000 dollars of reported income to be eligible for the rebate.

You have to have filed a return for 2007 with at least $3000 of eligible income to receive a rebate, so no, a person who made $1500 all year isn't eligible.

If someone had a refund coming for 2006 but hasn't filed yet, they can still file and get their refund.

He can (and should) still file his 2006 return, ASAP, and should get back his refund. Can only go back 3 years from 4/15 for refunds.
As to the stimulus rebates, your income is below the threshhold and you will receive no rebate. And if you're a dependent, as your income indicates you're not self-supporting, you wouldn't get a rebate, anyway.

You have to make at least $3,000 for the economic stimulus credit. Your friend can still file his '06 tax return and get his refund. When my husband and I were dating he filed 3 years of tax returns at once, I can't remember if he had additional forms to fill out or had to pay the accountant more, but he did get his refunds.
