No, if you owe tax, any check from the IRS is taken and applied to what you owe.
If you haven't gotten your stimulus check by now, you probably aren't going to, unless you filed very late in which case you might still see it if you don't owe back taxes.

No, it will be applied to any balance you have outstanding with the IRS. It happened to me amd all I got was a letter stating why I wasn't receiving the stimulus.

No. I owe taxes from 2006 (that I make monthly installment payments on), and I didn't get the last stimulus check. They simply sent me a statement telling me that the stimulus was deducted from what I owe in back taxes.

If you have an outstanding balance with the IRS, you will not receive your check, but it will be applied to your balance.
