My father's disabled and receives SS. My brother and I also got SS checks because of the disability (the money wasn't ours, but my parents got it because we, well, exist). When I turned 18 we had to sign a form to extend the payments to me since I became a legal adult. The extension was only for a few months until I graduated high school. After I graduated they stopped receiving checks for me.
If this is similar to your situation then your mother will not receive whatever money she gets for having you live with her.
Good luck! I hope this helps! |

No...your home of record would still be your parent's house. (Just make sure that...when you fill out YOUR tax return...you don't put use your dorm address.) |

it might. because of the income/family size ratio. However, some programs allow exemptions for students. This is something you need to review with your caseworker or the Social Security Administration.
You could also check out www.ssa.gov and see if your question has been asked or answered.
Social Security is one of the most generous entitlement programs toward students. |

It all depends on your age! But in most circumstances yes! If you were to still live at home then it wouldn't! However as long as you are under 18, then YOU personally would receive a certain amount each week/month. |

If you are living in the dorm year round, as your permanent residence, that would matter a great deal more than if you were living there only when temporarily away from home for educational purposes and continued to live with your mom the rest of the time. You need to be more specific in your question. |

You are still consider on living at home. You are just temporarily absent from home. |

The most you can get out of SSI(Bush Warz etc) is $250/wk you can't do much better than that. It's not much bu it all has to come out of the 7%+$(minus Bush Warz) that Havs pay in. |
