It's a scam. They take your money and then give it back to you. Of course, there is the little matter of the cost of collecting and redistributing the money which is almost 80% of the amount they collect.
We need lower taxes not tax credits. Those at the lowest end of the pay scale should not be paying anything other than NI contributions.
