It depends on how much the item costs and what the tax rate is where you live. You haven't given us EITHER of those pieces of information.

Depends on which state you live in. I live in Oregon so I have no sales tax. I believe a 32gb iPod touch costs $300 and lets say the sales tax is 12%. What I usually do is divide the cost of the item by 100 to see what 1% of the price is. In this case $3 = 1% multiply $3 x 12% and we get $36. That is the sales tax you will have to pay on a 32gb iPod touch if the sales tax is 12%. It most likely will be higher or lower though, you'll just have to calculate it by what percentage the sales tax is.
