My fiancee has been the victim of identity theft, we know who did this, they set up a talk talk account in her name and we received the bill which we refused to pay. We spoke to talk talk asking for numbers rung from this account one of which turned out to be a neighbours mother, we have also kept all our virgin bills (who is our real tv/internet/phone provider) from the period talk talk say we had an account with them, we spoke to talk talks' fraud department who told us not to worry they would sort it out. A week or so later we got a letter from a debt collection agency saying we had to pay the money, I have spoken to the police on several occasions but they say there is not enough proof to approach our neighbour. I know get several phone calls a week off the debt collection agency a week and have been threatened with court action. I feel this is harrasment considering I have spoken at length to all parties concerned, I am getting fed up of repeating myself and getting no help from the police who only came to see us because I threatened to go and "see" my neighbour myself, I was told I might be in trouble if I did. Any advice anyone could give me to resolve this situation would be gratefully received.
