Hello. I have a question about my debt to a realty. I moved out in 2009 and they asked me to pay for replacement of carpet and vinyl at about $1500. I didn't agree with that and refused to pay. Now, a collection agency is asking me to pay the bill. I wonder is the debt valid now? Does the realty have to go to the court to get the decision from the judge to make it valid? Does the collection agency have the right to report to credit bureau now?
